DBZ Forum

I think we should collapse this either into a subforum or into anime in general. There aren't any outstanding topics at all and the forum is pretty much dying anyways.

Thoughts?

Nah, there's no reason to. It's been there for years and it's a part of the dbzoa's history. Besides, it'd look weird as hell if there wasn't a Dragon Ball board underneath Dubbed.

I vote for making it a subforum since we are the OA now. Therefore, the board should reflect the broader scope of the site.

What do you mean by DBZ Forum? We have Dragonball and Dubbed Dragonball. I'd agree with combining them but they definitely need to be their own forum.

Well this could be open to tweaking.

We could condense dubbed dbz, ocean and 4kids into "dubbed anime" and put DBZ as a subforum in "anime".

Right now the DBZ forum is dead.

It's a part of our history, there's really no need to change it. Sure, we're "now the OA" but we'll always be the Dbzoa as well. Besides, the board isn't that inactive and there far more important things that can be done with the site besides whitewashing over our history.

Thnen combine them, but DBZ is very dead and if it was any other forum we would have gotten rid of it.

Secondly, I don't think EITHER of those forums should have their own place.

What I think should be done is make a Dubbed Anime forum, with Dubbed DBZ as a subforum and move DBZ to a subforum of Anime. That way we remember our history, yet our board looks much cleaner.

And creativity has underloc right now, but if you guys wanna collapse that go ahead, I'd support it as well. Remember the Sports Forum? We got rid of that because it got no action. I would support those decisions. Why od you think we made Fan Sumbissions a subforum?

You have a long habit of making judgement calls which are fortuitous they did not pass, so you really should be more critical in observing your judgement calls and knowing whether or not they're truly the right thing. We still are and we always will be, no matter how far out we branch out into anything else. (look up at our address bar). As for history, it's ridiculous to lump together all of the bad with the good. Abraham Lincoln is a part of our history- but by your argument, he shouldn't be honored. "Times change" and there's nothing we can learn or appreciate by looking back on and reflecting on our site.

Honoring our history doesn't mean keeping boards that aren't posted on anymore.

If you bothered coming to staff chats you would know that we are starting the webring. I haven't posted in any of the One Piece threads but that doesn't mean I don't care that its been licensed by 4kids. And we are here to inform people about anime....not assume every dub is going to be "teh suxorz" because it's done by FUNimation.

I'd ask you to prove the point about the One Piece animator but you probably can't give out your "sources".

Oh, I certainly care about One Piece. Just because I haven't been posting all over the place about it doesn't mean I don't care, let me assure you.

This, however, makes absolutely no sense. In my opinion it's some of your desires that threaten to shut down the site, not mine. Your wish to never move forward and always look to the past is one of the worst things we could do, in my opinion.

I've never wanted anything more or less for this site than expanding our reach to all anime, and being a place where anime fans can come together and work for better dubs and NA releases. If things went "exactly my way," then we'd be a household name. That's what I want.

Indeed we do.

Keep in mind I said that's my ideal for the site. Do I believe it can actually be reached? Possibly. But I don't know if we (the staff) has enough time to invest in order to make that come about. It's a known fact that we all have lives outside the site.

However, I do believe that we should be doing what we can when we can to at least move toward that ideal.

I agree Illy, I'd love to see that. But we all have to work a hell of a lot harder if we want to achieve that goal.

Saiyaman, we all know you work hard, but you also are lucky enough to have the time to do it. It's not fair for you to accuse other people of not doing enough. I agree that we don't--but it's no one's fault.
